Who Is Ghadi?

We take action Part of our culture and thinking is to relate the environment and ecology to the natural surroundings. In fact, it goes beyond that to the air that we breathe, the skin that we feel and the heart that pumps life in us.

Summary of GHADI's activities

• Implementing ecological awareness in schools and universities in the area from Beirut to the Mount-Lebanon, and that is to help in ecological guidance and culture and to support “the Ecological Renaissance” of the public sector and social institutions.

 

• Further developing the Green Student, Green Teacher, Green School project in collaboration with the ministry of Environment. This project aims at developing a unified and adequate methodology for ecological projects and for the establishment of ecological clubs in the schools, which enhanced the team work in all of the educational, social and governmental institutions, and that led to having the best results

• Establishing a committee to supervise the use of environmentally sound practices in industries and fuel companies

• Planting more than five thousand forests and fruitful trees yearly especially in the Mountain, and that is in collaboration with the ministry of Environment and the ministry of Agriculture

• Having a number of conferences with the participation of both the ministry of Environment and Agriculture, in addition to the association’s participation in a large number of local and abroad conferences

• Organizing Journeys of exploration of regions in Lebanon. Visits to the natural reserves: - Al- Shouf Cedar’s Reserve, where most of the reserve was exploited and a number of its plants and trees was explored

• Following up on the issue of flu bird and shedding the light on the issue of swine flu in a number of conferences and lectures with the LIONS and Rotary Clubs in the areas of Beirut and Mount-Lebanon

• Pursuing the problem of pine diseases

• Establishing and following up on ecological programs with the UNDP (S.O.S. OZONE…)

• Keeping up-to-date with the problem of the depletion of the Ozone layer and promoting the use of products with no CFCs • Organizing elections of class delegates at schools with the aim of establishing democracy in the educational system

• Celebrating different National and Ecological occasions • Organizing ecological contests • Attending to the needs of socially-distressed families in some occasions
